Query about a book I read years ago...

I wonder if anyone has read the following and can tell me the title. It's on the tip of my tongue but I just can't remember... At Uni I took a sci-fi literature class and one of the books we studied was set in a post-apocalyptic time and one of the plot lines (spoiler ahead) involved the rediscovery...

'''Science Fiction Britannica'''

I really enjoyed the documentary 'The Martians and Us' (although I missed the first one). I have a thing for the post apocalyptic theme so it was good to here about some early literature on the topic.

Censorship

'Bad Taste' (The New Zealand movie). This was banned in Qld, Australia a couple of weeks after it actually came out (if I remember correctly. It was a long time ago). Qld had a censorship film board who would ban lots of things. I don't know if it would have been banned over here but you never know.

The "Cinema Experience"

I know I'm getting in on this topic a little late but... If you have Cineworld nearby you can pay £10 a month and see as many movies as you like. It's brilliant. Over the past few months I have noticed that an usher comes in during the film, looks around and leaves - so maybe they are checking that...

Your last purchase

Just got 'Odyssey 5' (which we'll get to when we've finished Millennium). i don't know anything about it so hoping it's good - but not too good as there's only one series worth and if it's good I'll want more.

Eureka - 4400

I watched Eureka once but decided not to bother again - seemed a little like a soap opera. The fake Australian accent was also too much for me (being Australian). I have to stop myself getting sucked into too many sereis or I'd be at the tv all the time. Glad that SG1 and Stargate Atlanis have start...

The Meddling Hand of George Lucas

Original Blade Runner. Yes I would love a DVD edition of this. For similar reasons as mentioned above.

Old movie footage of Russian lab found

I tried to watch the first link at work but it was blocked 'due to pornopgraphy' LOL. Our firewall is a joke. The blog reads like a Relic Hunter episode. I love the Russian lip reader bit. The guy is in China on the 14th April and home the next day. Does it only take 2 days to get a film digitised? ...

"The possibility of an island"

This book is by Michel Houellebecq. My rant is that it is sold as sci-fi when it is actually pornography. You need to read through a lot of crap to get to the mildly interesting chapters that deal with the futuristic elements. They are few and far between (in regards to number of pages they take up)...
