the answer to the question is a gmail account. And if you dong know what one is then why would you want one ?

It depends on how much mail you get. Do a search on google for gmail and you might suddenly find the urge to have one... ;)

My understanding from the small print of a g-mail account is that google have a certain amount of rights to access your data, emails etc stored on their server to "bolster" the searching ability of their search engine. Also that anything on their servers is theirs and not yours and they will do with it what they well. Not read all the fine print but it might pay to do so? I mean we all REALLY read those long disclaimers don't we?

Nice thing is that if you are on linux there is a piece of software thats been created that allows you to access the 1gb online email storage as just online storage, films, mp3s etc, as if it were a normal network share. its called GmailFS i believe, i havent got round to installing/testing it on my linux setup but it sounds incredibly usefull. search on google for it and should be the first entry, the url is on my other system.

Tried reading through the disclaimer that came with win98 back in the day, but almost fell asleep on the keyboard...
