I see where your coming from good ideras but hows this sound

Alien Vs Perditor Night All the Alien Films Flowed by the Preditor films or say two fo each finishing off with Alien Vs Perditor if the flim is compleated by that time

push out the barrale a bit by asking people to dress up as Aliens, Preditors or Marines by having a contest for the best costumes

you could always give the winers Boxsets of the Alien films or the Preditor Films

Thogh this is just a sugestion that may work you never know

I have to admitting to only having seen and enjoying a few manga films as so many of them are "series" based I can not see the point of viewing just one movie.

Thats quite true most of the movies are related to the sirises

End of Eva for exsample wont make any sence to anyone realy unless they have seen the original siris first how ever there are some singale anime films that do not rely on the sirises such as Metropolis and Ninja Scroll

How about a "Robots Gone Bad" series of films?

I'm thinking the below four would make a nice all nighter line up;

Fritz Langs Metropolis
Westworld
The Original Terminator
The New battlestart Galactica
( shown as a single movie instead of a mini series)

I suppose you could have AI in there as well, even though I personally didn't like AI.

I think showing them in Choronological order would be interesting from a cinefille perspective...:)

Or a "Are Freinds Electric" series, showing the positive side of robotics.

I think a repeat of last years most excellant "Robot Stories"would go down well, as it was packed, and plenty of people couldnt' get a ticket.

You could combine it with the classic "The Day the Earth Stood Still, and possibly Terminartor 2 ( commericial I know but...) and maybe Transformers: the Movie to finIsih off, or maybe the John Malkovich Comedy Making Mr Right (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0093477/ ) I'm sure there are plenty of other non cheesy films featuring noble robots, but the only one I can think of is Star Trek : First Contact - if that's the one with the Borg Queen in it.

I'll shuddup now.

Well whilst you are entitled to your opinion there are plenty of adults who enjoy those movies without dropping to the level of Smut. whilst retaining fantastically realised worlds, involving characters, humour and great storytelling.

'robot stories' does need a second showing..it is a beautiful movie.. 'friends electric' ? miss dee, good suggestion !
i have seen so many brilliant films at the festival, and vidoque and avalon were prob the best , would they stand another showing?
dress up as aliens etc , shinji ?..personally would not wanna sit in the dark next to a hot itchey costume, although i might have unknowingly!
alnighter suggestions? what about comedy sci-fi..?.. a laughter night of sci f ? i..monsters and cheese at the curzon?any suggestions?
and manga at 'the other place' for the dedicated ? american astronaut might find a place on a comedy night !
sounds like i am looking for a retrospective already.... that proves sci-fi london is getting it right !!!
