A place for general sugesstions, like is there any chance we can get to view /preview the new Neil Gaimen / Dave McKean work "Mirrormask" at this years festival at all ??

The only people who seem to have seen any of it are the americans - which is a bit poo considering it's an almost wholly UK production...?

It seems to be funded by Jim Henson Productions in the US. They have an office in the UK... see if they respond this time, they never did when we chased Dark Crystal from them.

This may be slightly off topic but can I suggest a showing of CYPHER at the festival?!

I think this film passed a lot of people by when it was released, but having seen it at the cinema and now on DVD I think that its a solid movie and probably the closest any film has come to the atmosphere and confusion of a Philip K. Dick novel.

Plus it could also be shown in a double bill with Natali's other major film, the brilliant CUBE!
More people need to see this film!

(at this time I will also make my standard suggestion of QUIET EARTH for the festival. Thats Better :D )
"TO THE SPACE GUN!!!"

Having seen Cypher ( luckily I cought it at my local aart house cinema), I have to say yeah, it did deserve a wider big screen release.

Maybe a double bill of Cypher and The Cube would be good. They were done by the same director / screenwriter I think..?

You know what, Quiet Earth is on my list every year - just costs us a bit too much to ship and screen. If anyone knows of a print in Europe and not in New Zealand... we ight reconsider

As to Cypher, well it had promise but I felt it lost its way. BTW, there is a 3rd Cube film coming... might even be screening at a festival near you in Feb ...rumour has it
