Sad news, but how wonderful to have lived to 90 and to have had such a great impact on your world.
I am not a quiet person.

Absolutely Moss P, :)
his writing has influenced the whole world....
and Chrisp gave us a brilliant Obit .
Mr A was a forerunner to many real inventions, 'CLARKE ORBITS' !! fr'instance, (fixed satellite position system)
he really was and still is in his writing like a bridge between art and science, the ultimate sci fi thinker and writer.
He thought and wrote of the effect of human detritus in space, and Hal apart, he predicted men on the moon, and was right.
We all owe MR A.C.Clarke a debt, He took the perceived geek out of sci fi..thinking the possible into it.....
I love the man, and his politics and attitude to religions, AND he fought for Lowland Gorillas rights....
AND since much of his thinking has happened..
Space Elevators.....when?
