Sci-Fi fans are in for an intergalactic treat at Plymouth Arts Centre between April 2 and May 16. The latest exhibition, intriguingly entitled Alejandro Jodorowsky’s Dune: An Exhibition of a Film of a Book That Never Was, takes as its departure the cult Chilean film-maker Alejandro Jodorowsky’s attempted 1976 adaptation of Frank Herbert’s classic novel Dune.
The exhibition includes original production drawings made by Moebius, H R Giger (who designed the 1979 film Alien), and Chris Foss, alongside commissioned work by three international contemporary artists, Steven Claydon, Matthew Day Jackson and Vidya Gastaldon.
To compliment this sci-fi visual feast, Plymouth Arts Centre will be indulging fans with a triple bill film screening on Saturday April 17th. David Lynch’s Dune will be shown at 2pm, followed by Jodorowsky’s The Holy Mountain at 5.30pm, followed by Ridley Scott’s Alien at 8pm.
Book all three films for just £12 (£10 concessions). Phone the Box Office on 01752 206114 for more information. http://www.plymouthartscentre.org
