Psychoville

Anyone catch the first episode of Psychoville last night? I really enjoyed it, even if the BBC had completely failed to promote the programme in advance to its target market: ie. me! :?:

Available on the iplayer obviously for those who missed it.

Oh FFS why didn't they bother letting people know it was on? I'd have sky plussed it...

iplayer it is then...

Other channels advertise for months before a new show, for instance I'm currently waiting for more info on an airing date for True Blood on FX purely based on their preview 'Welcome to Bon Temps' ads. They're good at hooking me in but bad at making you wait for more info, The Listener was advertised for months in advance and it pissed me off when it never told me when it was going to start.

There has to be a happy medium, advertise the shows but not too far in advance.

Ta for the reminder - they had a few ads on (which even I've seen despite not having seen much BBC telly recently) but it slipped my mind. Definitely a good start, with enough foreshadowing, creepy weirdness and beany babies to keep most people happy. Hopefully it'll keep things rolling along nicely.

I will go set the PVR to grab the next one so as to watch it in slightly less pixellated glory.

...why, yes, that is Sci-Fi London's podcaster in episodes 3 (20 mins in, 3 seconds) and 5 (6.5 mins in, 2 seconds)...
