All nighter suggestions...
Possible movies for a Cronenberg/New Flesh allnighter could include:
Scanners (81), Videodrome (83), The Fly (86), eXistenZ (99), The Terminator (84), Robocop (87), Tetsuo (1 or 2) (88) (92) and Ghost in the Shell (95).
(notice also the high number of 80's films in this line-up. Coincidence?)
Night Watch sounds like a film to watch out for (where did you see it?), and could fit in well with the older Russian Sci-Fi films that have been shown at the festival before (eg. Stalker and Solaris)!

I can't believe you enjoyed Night Watch - I've seen it on imported DVD and I have to say that I'm none the wiser.
It might be that I was getting the meaning lost in translation but while the visuals are strong I found the plot entirely incoherent. I get that there is some sort of battle going on between good and evil but other than that I didn't have a clue what was going on. The plot leaps around like a kangaroo on speed, the characters (!) are paper thin and the whole thing smacks of an attempt to shoehorn everything from a big book into a short movie.
If I'd not been sitting in the comfort of my own home, I think I'd have walked out. As it was I had to watch it twice just to make sure I wasn't missing anything obvious, and it really was as confusing as I thougt.

Good to hear the recent news about the [ani]matrix allnighter for SFL 05.
But what do we think is the best order in which to show them all?
Here's my first stab at it (in some kind of chronological order). Feel free to cut and alter as you see best!
1 - Second Renaisance Pt 1
2 - Second Renaisance Pt 2
3 - Beyond
4 - A Detective Story
5 - The Matrix
6 - World Record
7 - Kids Story
8 - Final Flight of the Osiris
9 - The Matrix: Reloaded
10 - Program
11 - Matriculated
12 - The Matrix: Revolutions

You left out the movie segments from the videogames!! which would be even harder to interweave!!
I like the fact that the animatrix sits between 1 and 2 and explains what come before and what is to come rather than putting them in "true" order

true, and that is probably how they will be shown.
I just thought it could be better to split the Animatrix episodes up across the three films rather than watch all 9 in one go (but it really could be in any order)!
(personally my favorites of the 9 are the two Shinichiro Watanabe directed episodes; A Detective Story and Kid's Story, but I think thats probably just my own personal opinion

I like them all, each for their disctinctive style and the story they tell and how they tell it.
All nighter suggestions...
they're all good in their own way, and they definitely work better together as a collection rather than as individual pieces. But I guess, in the end, some episodes just speak to me more than others.

Ah, there as Sooo meny I'd love to see on the big screen!
Ok here are a few.
Japanese live action:
(I'll start with the classy ones, more for a laugh)
The girls rebel force of competitive swimmers
Sexual Parasite - Killer pussy
(now for the more normal (ish) films)
Kairo - A brilliant film if you ask me!
Battle Royale
Chakushin Ari (One Missed Call)
2LDK
Cure
The Great Yokai War
Lady Snowblood
Ring 0 (the 3rd film as I like it the most of the ringu films)
Visitor Q
Versus
Uzumaki
Next Anime:
Ninja Scroll
Devilman OVA's (there are 2 so only an hour and a half for both)
Black Lion
Patlabor - Mini Pato
Blood: The Last Vampire
Lupin III: The Castle of Cagliostro
Otaku No Video
Roujin Z
Urotsukidoji
That will do for me.
